Ethical Sourcing

Beautiful Stones, Responsibly Sourced

A gemstone passes through many hands on its journey from the earth to your collection — miner, dealer, cutter, and trader. At MineralsHub, we believe that journey should be fair, transparent, and free from harm. Ethical sourcing is not a marketing slogan for us; it is the foundation of how we choose our partners and build our inventory.

Direct From the Source

Wherever possible, we buy direct — from artisanal miners and family cutting houses in the great gem localities, and from established dealers with verifiable supply chains. These direct relationships do two things: they return a fairer share of value to the communities who bring these treasures to light, and they let us document provenance from mine to market.

Traceability & Provenance

We record and disclose the geographic origin of every stone, and for an increasing share of our inventory we can trace the chain of custody back to a specific mine or mining region. Several of our origins offer fully traceable, mine-to-market provenance — Montana sapphire and certain Sri Lankan and Australian sources among them — so you can know not only where your stone formed, but the responsible path it travelled to reach you.

Avoiding Conflict & Harm

We do not knowingly trade in material from conflict-affected sources or from operations associated with human-rights abuses or environmental destruction. For diamonds, we adhere to the principles of the Kimberley Process and source from suppliers who guarantee conflict-free origin. For coloured stones, we favour suppliers who can demonstrate responsible mining practices and fair labour conditions.

Supporting Mining Communities

Much of the world's finest coloured-stone rough is recovered by small-scale, artisanal miners. When sourced fairly, this trade can be a vital and sustainable source of income for entire communities. We prioritise partners who pay fair prices at the mine, invest in safer working conditions, and support local development — turning the natural wealth of a region into lasting benefit for the people who live there.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Responsible sourcing is a journey, not a destination. We continually deepen our traceability, scrutinise our supply chains, and seek out partners who share our values. If you would like to know more about the provenance of a specific stone, contact us at sourcing@mineralshub.co — transparency is something we are always glad to offer.
